Engineering Manager:
Equipment Division
Scope
The overall management and coordination of the electrical and mechanical
engineering personnel, directing and coordinating engineering design
activities, optimising resources and facilities in line with TMD’s
business plan and priorities. To ensure that consistent, effective
management methods are implemented and maintained.
Main Duties
- To monitor the effectiveness of each Design Engineer / Draughtsman
and perform Line Management activities including appraisals, workload
planning, time management etc.
- To manage the resources of the Equipment Division development
area.
- To provide work cost estimate input for development / NRE activity
in support of bids and proposals.
- To ensure that Design Engineers: take responsibility for the
design, development and manufacturing of their allocated projects,
adhere to both customer and TMD product specification, maintain
an engineer’s daybook to allow visibility and continuity
of activities in the event of absence, raise and agree acceptance
test documents and specifications, communicate with the Programme
Manager and other members of the team, comply with all TMD procedures,
ensure safety of all TMD products and test procedures.
Minimum Qualification
BSc (Hons) Science / Engineering subject or equivalent
Experience
Radar System Engineering or similar equivalent
Prime contractor experience
Experience of managing Engineering staff / multi-skilled team
Desirable &
other qualities
High voltage PSU / Transmitter / Tube experience

Senior Power Supply Design
Engineer
Scope
Design and development of new and existing switched mode power supplies,
capability to work at low (,100v) and high voltages (.10kV) and
low (Watts) and high (kilo Watts) powers
Main Duties
- Comprehensive understanding of customer requirements, including
nature of deliverables, specifications, delivery milestones, stage
payment terms, delivery rate and timing, contractual terms and
QA conditions.
- Identification of work packages , key milestones and time budgets
(man-hours) for each package. Using the plan to agree schedules
with Team Leader, staff and service groups, issuing work packages
at appropriate times, ensuring all requirements (technical, quality,
cost and timescale) are fully described and understood. Monitoring
progress outside own team.
- Reviewing new product or project specifications and plans. Providing
supporting commentaries and information for proposals.

- MSc Power Electronics or equivalent.
- Experience with Microwave Tubes and Transmitters

Expeditor
Main
Duties
- Responsible for the expediting of all materials to ensure timely
provision to support the manufacturing process
- To include raw material purchased parts, WIP or finished stock
Identify priority material requirements
- Establish effective progress systems using phone, email, fax
and personal visit
- Progress all purchase orders, works orders or other requirements
in an effective manner to ensure timely delivery
- Record any nonconformance
- Elevate any nonconformance to the Materials Controller
Minimum Qualification
Basic GCSE in English and Maths (A-C)
Experience
Experience of materials control and expediting within a manufacturing
environment
An understanding of MRP based operating systems
Good communication, planning and organising skills
Desirable &

NVQ Level 2 Purchasing
Experience of multilevel BOM's and routing structures

Programme Manager - Equipment
Division
Scope

- Responsible for Programme Management of customer specific contracts
or product specific programmes, ensuring they are completed on
time to the expected quality requirements
- To work as part of the Programme Management team planning,
organising and directing Divisional and Company Resources in line
with TMD's overall business plan and priorities
- To manage small teams of staff allocated on a project by project
basis
Person Specification
- A professional Programme Manager who is an excellent customer
communicator and possess good people management skills.
- The ability to communicate at all levels of the Company is
essential as is commercial awareness and common sense.
- All the above should all be combined with tenacity, excellent
motivational skills and a willingness to work hard to achieve
the
Companies, the Customers and his / her team's goal.

Experience
- Must have a good track record of controlling complex programmes

Junior I.T Support Analyst
(Trainee Position)
Scope
To provide 1st line desktop support & I.T helpdesk support.
Main Duties
- Maintenance of existing IT Equipment
- Log PC maintenance calls received on the helpdesk
- Troubleshoot internal user PC problems
- Existing user upgrades
- New equipment set-up
- Identify, isolate and resolve IT problems / requests
- Creation of new user accounts
- General system administration
